I¡¯m not entirely sure where my passion for the mullet arose. Possibly it was as a teenager of the tragic 80¡¯s when I had many ACDC listening, mullet sporting mates. They all had one thing in common ? a very particular kind of personality. You¡¯ve got to admire them, that hair is a statement. It say¡¯s ¡°I really don¡¯t care what you think about me ? I think I look rather cool in fact¡±. Like the mane of a Lion, it is a statement of masculinity. Quite where that leave¡¯s the wearers of ¡°femullets¡± (females), I¡¯m not sure.   The mullet is a way of life, it is a state of mind, it is every person who wears it. Physically it is characterized by short hair on the top, front, and sides of the head, followed by a long drape of hair on the back. Typical accessories to the mullet include moustaches, scraggly beards or goatees, and shades.
Please be aware this page is strictly 'tongue in cheek' and I apologize if any mulleteers have been offended. But then, with hair like that, you probably don't care what anyone thinks anyway.
Bad Bonce's - The World Over
My own work! Snapped at the Birmingham Travel Show. 2004
My own work! This mullet head actually posed for me - it's Graham the chef, in Herm! Nice one!
The mullet sporter will often be seen wearing the universal dress code of tight marble wash jeans along with a well used vest or ¡°singlet¡±.

The mullet is an international hairstyle ? it knows no boundaries of region or ethnicity. World wide, it certainly has it¡¯s strong hold in rural parts ? particularly in outback Australia and the red-neck farming states of North America.

And so it is that I pledge to risk life and limb on my next trip in bringing you a collection of international mullets from the four corners of the globe. Some proud muleteers are happy to pose for the camera ? others are more secretive and may require covert use of the telephoto lens. Deciding who is which is where the risk to life and limb comes from!
Mullets get Chicks!
This Chinese mullet head was snapped at Xi'an rail station very early in the morning - result!
