Going to New Zealand permanently was a big move. So I figured it would be an ideal time to go on one last big adventure, to get it out of my system.
As much as I love flying, and I really do, quite a bit of stuff gets missed when at 35,000ft. With this in mind, and taking into account my interest in all forms of getting around – I decided going over land and sea to be a suitable aim.
This is not a mission that will fail if I step aboard an aircraft. The over land & sea idea is simply something to start from. It’s an idyll to which I hope I can adhere, but I am aware that particularly crossing the Pacific will be a challenge. There is only one successful outcome to this journey – that is to arrive in NZ in reasonable health, money in the bank, still not married and with no children. How I get there, and how long it takes and what happens in between is all open to change. It should make for some interesting reading. |
